Rosemary Grapefruit Sodas

Rosemary Grapefruit Sodas

Lately I’ve been on the hunt for “Mock-tails” with delicious, but unexpected flavors. So far I’ve found two that I absolutely love, and one I’m going to share with you now! These are called Rosemary Grapefruit Sodas, and yes, I am currently sipping on it while I write! This recipe may look a little intimidating, but seriously, no need to stress… It’s easy enough for me!

I don’t know about you, but I always get a little intimidated when I read strange ingredients on a recipe ingredient list. (what in the world is this kombucha stuff I’m supposed to make?!) Haha- no offense to those who make that! The only two ingredients you probably don’t use often in this recipe are Rosemary sprigs (easy enough) and grapefruit!

The Recipe

Ingredients for simple syrup

1 cup water
3/4 cup granulated sugar
1/4 cup honey
2 large strips of grapefruit zest
3 large sprigs of rosemary

Other ingredients

LaCroix Lime sparkling water
Fresh grapefruit juice
Ice
Rosemary Sprigs & Sliced Grapefruit, to garnish

Instructions

Combine the water, sugar, and honey in a small pot and cook over medium heat for 5 minutes, stirring occasionally. Add the grapefruit zest and rosemary sprigs, turn heat to low and simmer for 5 minutes. After 5 minutes, let ingredients steep for up to an hour. Strain the syrup into a glass jar.

To make a glass, pour in 1-2 parts syrup, 2 parts fresh grapefruit juice, and 3-4 parts sparkling water. Put garnishes in glass and add ice. Enjoy!
