The Turn of Autumn
October 9, 2020 • Written By sfpadmin
The long hot days of summer have gently given way to the cooler days of Autumn. I welcome this time of year, but inwardly hesitate to embrace the change when I know that winter is coming! The summer flower pots are trying their best to remain vibrant through the seasonal change, as if they know their days are limited. Some of the coleus way outdid themselves this year, and were looking a little droopy with heavy top stalks! These pots have been refreshed and adorned with beautiful fall mums and to enjoy for a few more weeks.
Recently while on a walk late in the afternoon, I turned the bend and took in the full view of perfect beauty. The weakening afternoon sun shown directly onto the colored leaves, creating a vibrancy almost too perfect to capture the real depth of color… right here in Remington! In this turbulent world, there is still peace and solitude in the simple beauty around us… and you don’t have to look far! I am reminded on one of my favorite verses-
These things I have spoken unto you, that in Me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world. – John 16:33
And so, when things seem rough and the way looks uncertain, remember to keep your eye on the simple beauty around you and be reminded of God’s faithfulness in all things.
