The Homestead, Located in Remington & West Lafayette Indiana

The Homestead!
We are a family-owned business that was founded in 2010 in downtown Remington, IN. Our second location in West Lafayette, IN opened in 2017.

We continue to supply and serve our communities as well as outlying areas with products that customers love and enjoy.
We are the Mike and Jody Bahler family. We live and labor in the heart of a farming community where we raised our five daughters and taught them the simple joys of planning, preparing, and serving wholesome meals around the family table. Life brings change to family dynamics and we found ourselves busy with the activities of raising our growing family, with less time to focus on meals. We enjoyed prepared homemade frozen dinners when the challenges of many schedules meant fewer opportunities to be in the kitchen daily.

Our dream to serve others and open our shop became a reality in 2010. Our family worked together to create The Homestead- a respite from hectic schedules and life in the fast lane. Customers enjoy taking a step back in time as they cross the threshold of our door. We believe it is possible to lead a busy life and still have time for the relationships that matter most.

Today, our kitchens open in the wee hours of the morning as our donut crew rolls out fresh donuts, and our bakers pull fresh-baked bread from the ovens. A large variety of homemade casseroles, pies, cookies, bread, Danish, sweet rolls, and more are produced daily in our Remington production facility.

Quality sliced deli meats and cheeses are our specialty, and colorful rows of bulk candies, gummies, chocolates, fresh fudge, and honey from local honeybee hives line the shelves. Our catering team offers a large selection of customer favorites for special occasions and large events. In addition, we specialize in fundraising, wholesale, and corporate gifts. Unique gifts and farmhouse décor enhance The Homestead experience.

Customers enjoy dine-in or carry-out at our locations. We are known for our selection of hot toasty sandwiches, flatbread pizzas, salads, and daily soup.
We love serving our guests and enjoy seeing them gathered ‘round our tables.
We invite you to stop by and experience warm Hoosier hospitality. To God be all glory.
Mike and Jody Bahler, Founder + Owner
