Good-Bye Remington Homestead Store
August 31, 2024 • Written By Homestead
It was a beautiful spring day in May 2010 when we nervously flipped the sign to open our store! In some ways, that seems like many moons ago! In other ways, it feels like it was yesterday. Our young girls eagerly donned their tiny Homestead aprons, pulled up a step stool, and set to work! We had no idea of the work or the long, countless hours that loomed before us. We also had no idea of the blessings we’d encounter along the way, the wonderful people we would meet and serve, or the fun we would have!
We want to sincerely thank our amazing customers who faithfully patronized our Remington store. You gave us the energy we needed to keep going! We loved the small-town chatter and the opportunity to get to know so many of you. It was always a joy to see our guests enjoying their stay around the table with friends, or meeting on the deck for lunch and coffee.
As we skip along the steppingstones of life, we know that each stone brings change, growth, and opportunities. While this transition tugs at our heartstrings, we look to the future with joy and hope as we step out through doors that God has opened. We look forward to continued services and partnerships within our communities that will provide opportunities for our patrons to still be able to purchase and enjoy their Homestead favorites!
Although we will be soon closing the Remington store, we are excited that our Main Office and Catering departments downtown, our spacious Production facility on Hwy 24 here in Remington, and our Homestead store in West Lafayette will continue to serve and produce the goodies that you love! Stay tuned with our social media posts and newsletters to keep up with the latest information!
We want to thank our amazing employees who’ve worked in the store, both in the past, and currently! We are so thankful for the service you’ve provided. We are excited that some will be transferring to other departments within the company. We look forward to growing and working together! August 31, 2024 will be the last time we flip the sign to ‘closed’ here at the Remington store in the heart of downtown Remington. Such a bittersweet time for all of us, and no doubt a few tears will escape as we close the door one last time. Thank you for the opportunity you’ve given us to serve you here! We will cherish the memories.
The years have brought many growing pains with twists and turns, hills and valleys, sunshine and rain. Would we do it again? Yes! It’s been a journey of faith, but we’ve seen and felt the goodness of God! He is faithful. It is of the Lord’s mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not. They are new every morning; great is thy faithfulness. -Lamentations 3:22-23
God bless you all!
Blessings,
Mike and Jody Bahler and family
