2024 Recap from The Homestead

As we near the end of the year and analyze the journey of 2024, we ponder the challenges, victories, hope, disappointments, joys, grief, worries, failures and successes! That’s quite a bundle of emotions all packed together, but I think if we are all realistic about life, it’s fair to say that we all experience this in our own personal way. I’m reminded of a quote stated by Helen Keller “Life is either a daring adventure or nothing at all.” We can choose to either embrace the challenges and excitement of life’s journey or fall prey to the abyss of fear.

2024 was another year of transition for The Homestead. We faced a weighty decision regarding the direction of our Remington retail store. The Homestead journey began at that location in 2010. It was an exciting, giant leap of faith. Precious memories linger there within those walls, and we cherish the friendships we made with our customers from near and far.  As we flipped the August calendar to September, we also flipped the shingle from open to closed at the Remington Homestead. Change tugs at the heart strings! Amidst the swirling unknown, we were encouraged by the kindness and support of our customers. You gave us courage to open other doors of opportunity!

As our online orders and wholesale accounts continue to grow, we are thankful that the transition has gone well! Customers enjoy the ease of online ordering and pick up at either the Remington Production Facility or the West Lafayette Homestead. When ordering online, the order is bagged and ready for customers at pick up! Thank you to all who have continued to patronize us online! We’re also thrilled that other hometown Remington businesses have asked to partner with us to offer some of our product line. Thank you to Remington IGA and Clark’s Cutting Edge for supporting The Homestead as a local wholesale account!

We were excited to partner with Stoller Fundraising in Ohio this fall, and ten pallets of Apple Crisp kept our Production team hopping for a couple of weeks! We’ve been blessed with the partnership of other shops that promote and retail our products. 

December always feels like a winter whirlwind, but the momentum of the season is energizing! Our team is prepared and ready to serve you! We love the joyful spirit of Christmas! We hope that amidst the rush of the season, you find time to celebrate the Savior who was born to redeem us from sin and separation from the Father! For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace. -Isaiah 9:6

As we stand at the threshold of a fresh new year, we pause to reflect on the goodness of God and His faithfulness to us. We want to thank you for your loyal support of The Homestead this past year.
