FIRST EXPERIENCE

Wow, is all I can say. I felt like I was in a place that my soul connected to. I love cooking, I love trying new places and the Homestead Buttery and Bakery was truly wonderful. The food was fabulous. I had a cold, and the jello salads were so easy on my taste buds and the Lasagna Soup was beyond delicious. I couldn't get enough of the comfort food. I have been friends with several families from the Francesville Apostolic Church and knew about the great cooks up there, but discovered your gem of a place by searching online for good home cooking places near Lafayette, Indiana. I work at Purdue University and am retiring in October so I plan to make lots of trips to Remington in the future.

Chicken & Rice Casserole

Had our first chicken & rice casserole from the freezer for our lunch and it was absolutely wonderful! Will definitely get more the next time we are in the store.

It was just like a home cooked meal.

What a nice place to stop, relax, and enjoy a warm sandwich and soup for lunch. Just like Grandma used to make at home. Try it, you'll like it!

We recently found out about Homestead. My sister and I took our children there this past Saturday. I can not believe we had not heard of this place! It's lovely! It was truly wonderful taking in the sights, sounds, smells and taste of everything that the Homestead has to offer. My 12 year old son said it was the best food he has EVER had! All the kids said they wanted to go back. Keep up the great dedication ladies, it completely comes through in your store, employees and food!

It feels like home should feel

From the moment you walk through the door of The Homestead, you are enveloped in love. It is something quite intangible, but you know is there. The consumable foods, you can tell, are made and assembled with care with great emphasis placed on quality before quantity. Most importantly though is the emphasis placed on care.

Many places say that they care for the customer, but the passion really lies in the care of the bottom line. These families have come together to create something truly unique in this ever changing society, a restaurant and store that places the customer second, the business third and Christ first. Even if you do not believe in Jesus as your Savior, you can take part in what He has had a hand in.

Jodi recently took a baking class at The Homestead. Not only was she glowing when she returned home from what she learned and the simple but filling meal that was offered. But she radiated the entire atmosphere that she was enveloped in while she was there. God bless the families that opened this venture. And God bless The Homestead.

There is a lot to like about the Homestead...the bulk food, frozen rolls, pies, and cookies, deli meats and cheeses, smoothies, wonderful gifts for all ages, friendly service, an easy way to hold a special event, a great spot to meet friends for lunch!! We are so fortunate to have The Homestead in our town! Come and visit....you'll keep coming back!
