BULK FOODS
Our bulk food shelves are loaded with a large variety of commonly used baking ingredients and other dry goods such as Amish noodles and pastas, dry soup and dip mixes, jams, jellies, pickled veggies, chocolates & candies, gelatin, pudding mixes, snack mixes, nuts, and many other useful and unusual items. Some popular items are our Veggie Medley Chips, Caramel Puffcorn, Candy Blox (sweet tart Lego’s that can really be stacked, and then eaten! Kids love these! Cinnamon Pretzel Grahams are a special treat, and have been found to be a popular snack item.
The majority of our bulk foods are shipped in from Dutch Valley Bulk Foods, located in Ohio’s Amish Country. We are shipped large quantities (25 lb. or 50 lb. bags) at a time, and we carefully package and label smaller bags into user-friendly portions. You will find various sized bags of different items. Each bag is weighed and labeled before it goes on the shelf to the customer. We offer Sugar-Free and Gluten-Free choices, in a special section of the store. Prairie Gold Wheat berries are available in 50# bags, as well as smaller portions. We also carry other grains to fit your needs. We can equip you with all of your bread-baking needs, including our favorite Bosch bread mixer and Nutrimill. The Nutrimill can grind a variety of whole grains into fresh flour. We use this same mill in our Flour Mill room, to grind whole wheat berries into fresh 100% whole wheat flour. We start with the wheat berries, grind them, and make our own fresh bread, in the Homestead kitchen. We also grind fresh rye flour for our homemade Swedish Rye Bread.
FROZEN FOODS
Our freezer case offers a nice selection of homemade frozen food ready for you on one of those hectic days! In years past for our families, we have made casseroles, cookies, breads (just about anything!) to keep in the freezer. It feels like a treat to be able to go to the freezer and pull out something for dinner that evening. We now offer you, our customer, this same luxury! We keep an assortment of cookies, pies, breads, dinner rolls, small casseroles (serves 3-4), large casseroles (serves 8-10), homemade soups (quart containers), and sweet rolls on hand.
NEW! We now offer our famous large Homestead Cinnamon Roll, and Caramel Pecan Roll individually in the freezer case- convenient for you to grab and go! Let it thaw at room temperature for a couple of hours, warm in the microwave, and indulge in the homemade goodness!)
